Pressing the right button

Class I
Checks earthed appliances - look for 3 wires in the plug. Tests for earth continuity and checks insulation

Class II
Checks double insulated appliances - these have no earth wire in the plug and if they are Double Insulated have this symbol

Cord
Tests extension leads for earth continuity and insulation and checks that the lead is wired correctly

Tough
The rugged outer casing will stand up to most normal working environments

Flexibility
The PB500 PAT Tester is lightweight and easy to handle, and because it’s powered by 6 x AA batteries it can be used wherever and whenever it’s needed
